Q: What type of work did you do before joining the RPOR team?

A: Before joining RPOR, I worked as a Senior United States Probation Officer for the Western District of Missouri where I specialized in mental health and substance use disorder treatment as well as contracted for treatment services.

Q: Explain what your role is here at RPOR and what a typical day looks like on the job:

A: I am at Christine’s Place Drop-In Center 2-3 days a week as a lead volunteer.

There really is no “typical day.” I ensure we have volunteers throughout the day, coordinate medical and other social services as well as volunteers to work in the storage area, and coordinated a mobile food pantry.

I make referrals for treatment when requested and provide homeless letters and residence verification.

Q: What about our mission resonates with you and why?

A: The women and children that visit Christine’s Place are all so broken and have experienced unimaginable trauma. Healing and restoration are key pieces in having a different life.

I want to be part of an organization that is actively involved in making a difference.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish (or learn) during your time here at RPOR?

A: My hope is to plant a seed of trust and an opportunity to obtain the tools and resources for a better life. I want to remind the women of their value.

Q: What goals do you have for your role at RPOR?

A: Expand and appreciate the volunteers at the center. Keep it organized and stocked with all the necessities.

Q: What are you looking forward to the most while working here?

A: Seeing women rescued and lives changed.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

A: I love to craft; be outside; travel; play with my dog and have experiences with my kiddos.
