5 detained as part of human trafficking investigation, Oak Grove police say

3 children taken into protective custody, authorities say

Oak Grove police said five men were detained Friday as part of a sex trafficking investigation in Oak Grove.The operation's results were announced Tuesday. It was conducted with the Missouri Highway Patrol and the attorney general's office human trafficking task force.Authorities said 10 women were contacted and offered victim services, including food, lodging, onsite medical services, counseling/therapy and drug rehabilitation. Three children under the age of 5 were taken into protective custody and released to the Missouri Department of Social Services. No arrests were announced. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
